HARVESTING ANIMALS ON FARM IS NOW LEGAL!!!

This is a huge win for the food sovereignty of consumers, the feasibility of small scale regenerative farmers, and most importantly, the well-being of the animals that provide us with nourishing food. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort! Read more to find out all the details.

Back in 2018 I was threatened with fines and jail time for providing our educated and consenting customers to meat that was humanely harvest on the farm (see the blog post here). Since then, with the help of my amazing community, I have worked to petition the Government of Alberta to change the meat inspection laws. Well, they just did! Maybe there is still hope in our politicians after all ;)

I am still waiting for more of the details of how this will all work. But I will keep you posted. For now, here is what the new regulations look like.
